Hello world.
There’s nothing better than waking up to Persona-related news.
Especially when the news is about a Persona themed fighting game by none other than Arc System Works.
Just a few details have surfaced about the project, called Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, but it’s more than enough to make any fanboy uber-excited.
Atlus and Arc-System must have been inspired by this.
First of all, let’s clear obvious doubts raised by the game title: characters from both P3 and P4 will be included in the roster.
This means I’ll be able to use Akihiko Sanada, and consequently that the game is undoubtedly gonna be a masterpiece.
Although, to be honest, I regret Atlus forgetting about awesome older characters such as Ulala.
The title will feature a story mode, different for each of the included characters, set two months after the events of P4.
Online play will be supported, and the game will be released in Japanese arcades next spring. A PS3 and 360 conversion will follow shortly, predictably during the summer.
Albeit unlikely, shouldn’t The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena reach western shores, fans will easily be able to import the PS3 version.
In other, less exciting news, a Vita enhanced porting of P4 called Persona 4: The Golden has been announced along the fighting game. It will feature a new playable character, called Mari/Mary (Sonomura? Naaaah!), tons of new dubbed dialogues, costumes, locations, animated cutscenes and intro, a bike to ride and a multiplayer rescue system à la Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.
Of course, expect new details as more features of the game are unveiled in the next weeks.
So much for Persona 4 on PS2 being the definitive version, right Atlus?
