Lord Ghirahim is an interesting little character. With a precious little design. The missing link between Lady Gaga and Vaati.
There he is, sitting right in the middle of those two.
The typical annoyed smirk painted on his face and hands resting on his hips folding his cape behind his tights, as to show off the fancy, elaborate black and white diamond motif of his attire - a motif that will become increasingly obtrusive on his figure along the course of Skyward Sword’s story.
Although far from being the most original villain to ever appear in a videogame, I found his monologues amusing and well written: a welcome addition to the usual formula made of of Ganondorf threats, princess squeals and overall mutism.
The disparaging tone in his words accompanied by his suggestive tongue are only second to his over-the-top metrosexual body language when it comes to acting. His whole role in the story, including the (almost) shocking final revelation about his identity, add a sprinkle of awesomeness to an otherwise slightly underwhelming and underachieving conclusion.
But as far as actually playing the game goes, oh what a pain in the ass he is.
I blame Fi. Her motor-mouth advice failed to explain what to do with his unbearable patterns. Or maybe it’s his excessive ability to read the player’s moves and the game controls, obsessively relying on overrated motion sensors.
It’s a fact - he’s extremely annoying.
But look at him dance.
Can you really still hold a grudge for those ruthless parries?
