Keiji Inafune finally unveiled the first proper console project of his young company, Intercept.

This short trailer (along with a few screenshots) shows so little about the game, yet it’s clear Capcom’s former head of developement is working his magic again.

The game is called Kai-Oh, which could be translated as Sea King, although magazines around the internet have already started referring to it by it’s subtitle: King of Pirates.
Kai-Oh is a collaboration between Intercept and the newborn Marvelous AQL - the game was in fact announced during the company’s merging press conference, and it’s supposed to be an Action RPG slated for release sometimes in 2012, exclusively on 3DS.

The assets and screenshots released today show a very interesting and inspired cast of characters. I’m already in love with the protagonist, the cute little pirate penguin, and I can’t wait to see more about him and his world.
Looks like fans of furries can cheer up again, after the Bloody Roar hoax that shattered their hearts a couple of days ago.

Despite the very bad title logo (which reminds me of Kung Fu Panda) and the very generic name (which reminds me of One Piece), I can’t help but feel a bit happier about owning a 3DS after this gentle rain of good news.
